Sometimes God works in the most suttle ways

Here is an update from my previous post. We were a little apprehensive about getting my PET Scan the first of the week on the 11th then wait till Friday to see my Oncologist. As it worked out in the most suttle of ways we will have the PET on Friday morning and a meeting that afternoon. So you see God can work in the most suttle of ways

I have had the good fortune of reading some wonderful material from some really inspirational people lately. I read a small little booklet that Kaye bought me by Dodie Osteen on her battle with cancer and the scriptures she used to help her win that battle when she was facing some really bad odds. I have read most of a book my mom sent me called battlefield of the mind by Joyce Meyers and it is really a good book about how to set you mind and resist a lot of negative thoughts which incidently is the series my pastor Jim Kelley has been speaking on and that is "Think Big" which is geared to renewing your mind to what the scriptures says about how we are to approach a lot of lifes issues.

How am I feeling these days? I am still fatigued from the last chemotherapy and I hope to put that behind me this weekend and get on the upswing. I am working through a couple of issues that chemotherapy brings as it weakens your immune system and hopefully the medicine prescribed will do just that. One that is most annoying is loss of appetite. I want to get fat again imagine that someone wanting to put on weight. I weighed in today at the doctor at 192 and I hope to put that back to 200 when my appetite comes back.

I want to thank everyone for their cards and letters. There are so many of you that I cannot possibly name you all but I thank you so very much for your cards and especially your prayers.

I wanted to ask you to pray for these people as you remember me in prayer. Paula Parker a good friend of mine, Judy Harmon, Judy Orrell, and Eddie Holcomb. Eddie had quadruple by pass this week and is still in the hospital. Paula and the two Judys are in the same business I am and are also in the cancer battle.

Until next time
