Thoughts from the Hospital

since Kaye and I spent our Easter Weekend at the Rex Carlton, I had a lot of time to think about God and his plan and one thought that came to me was what does God smell like. He did breath into our nostrils so we should have some kind of feeling for what he smells like. As I lay there in my room early Sunday morning I felt the presense of God in the room and I felt that at that time God smelled like lavendar and that lavendar was for healing a broken marriage. A little while later another smell came to mind and then another and I began to think that we should not only be able to feel the presence of God but smell him as well. I know that is out there but it is how I felt at the time.

Today I attended a fund raiser for the Lymphoma Society. It was a memorial fund raiser to remember a young man who died last year with Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was 20 years old and attended UNC. He had such a bright future ahead of him but God saw another need. Kaye and I thought that his family must be both proud and sad at this event. It was a baseball game between our Southeast Raleigh team and his former high school team Green Hope. All the proceeds went to the society in memorial of him. What a nice gesture and what a great gather of people from both schools. I am so proud of Southeast Raleigh Baseball for agreeing to play this game. I realized again today that cancer robs us of our loved ones and steals our futures. We have to find a cure and not settle for treatment. Remember one of my earlier posts that said Leaders Serve Others and that was the case today as I saw 14 Southeast Raleigh Baseball players serve as leaders!

God Bless You
Tim
