The week ahead
It is Sunday and I am reflecting on a very good weekend. Friday night I attended the Joel Osteen program at the RBC center in Raleigh. I just finished reading his book Your Best Life Now. A lot of his comments during his presentation were in the book. He brings a positive upbeat Motivational kind of message. Kaye and I enjoyed the singing and the message. Tomorrow I start the week knowing that on Thursday I will have treatment #11 in what was originally scheduled for 12. I am confident that I will finish all 12 and then move on to the next stage in my recovery. Radiation is still a real probability but I am confident that should that be a part of my recovery it is all within the Grand Plan for me.
One thing that struck me Friday at Joel Osteens event was his comment that no matter what our circumstances, or situation we are firmly in God's palm. We are sheltered in his hand and everything in our lives goes according to His Plan. Sometimes I forget that. Joel's mother Dodie spoke about her cancer in 1981 where she was told she had only weeks to live. She said she too had to go through a treatment process and yes it takes time but a positive attitude and willingness to accept that it is in a grand plan will see you through. I believe that. Healing comes slowly and during the process, we are made stronger in our faith and resolve.
